SEARCH-LED DIGITAL STRATEGY & BUSINESS MODELS

Dillan Gandhi Consulting

I use search intelligence and market data to decide where businesses should compete, what they should sell, how they should be discovered and where they should invest.

Through Dillan Gandhi Consulting, I work directly with ambitious founders, investors and management teams as a fractional CMO. I set commercial direction, develop the business model and lead execution. I take decision-making responsibility from the first strategic question through to delivery.

That can mean building a proposition from the ground up, sharpening a competitive position, restoring a stalled pipeline or preparing a business for its next stage of value.

My work moves from positioning and creative direction into the channels, content and customer experiences that turn demand into revenue.

In 2025, my clients generated an average of £17 for every £1 spent with me. I bring two decades of experience across retail, lifestyle, finance, healthcare, technology, hospitality and construction, spanning technical search, digital strategy, commercial growth and creative execution.

01 Commercial Strategy & Business Models

I determine where the money is. That means deciding what the business should sell, how it should make money, where it should invest and which opportunities are worth pursuing. I build the commercial model around the market, not the other way around.

Search is one of the clearest records of what people want. I use search behaviour, market data and demand signals to identify opportunities before decisions are made around product, positioning, expansion and investment. The objective is not more data. It is better judgement.

I decide what the business needs to mean. Who it is for. What it should be known for. What it should sell. Why somebody should choose it. The result should be easier to understand, harder to ignore and more difficult for competitors to imitate.

I decide how the strategy reaches the market. Search, content, channels, partnerships, customer experience and acquisition are treated as parts of one commercial system, not separate marketing exercises. Every decision has to lead somewhere: demand, revenue, market position or enterprise value.

I make the business worth more through discoverability and optimisation. That means identifying where value is being created, where it is being lost and what would make the business more attractive to an investor, acquirer or successor. Growth matters, but so do margin, positioning, recurring revenue, resilience and how dependent the business is on its founder. The goal is simple: build a business somebody is willing to pay more for.

I do not hand over a strategy and disappear. I work directly with founders, investors and management teams, make decisions, brief specialists, challenge the work and lead delivery. There is no account-management layer between my judgement and the business.

These are not packages or a fixed menu of services. They represent the areas I am most often brought into. An engagement may involve one of them or cut across all six. The work is shaped around the commercial problem, the opportunity and the decisions that need to be made.
